Protests in Bangladesh against Narendra Modi's visit, four killed

 Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bangladesh on Friday on a two-day visit. Protests are taking place in the Chittagong region of Bangladesh in protest of his visit. Meanwhile, at least four people were killed in violent clashes between protesters and police.


According to the BBC Bengali Service, a police official confirmed that four injured people were taken to hospital after which they died.

Earlier, protests against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit took place in Baitul Mukarram area of ​​the capital Dhaka after Friday prayers.

In the last few days, several Muslim leaders and left-wing organizations have staged rallies against the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He claims that Sheikh Mujibur Rehman had fought for a secular country while Modi's policies are the opposite.


Modi arrived in Bangladesh on Friday at the invitation of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.


He is here to take part in the celebrations of Bangladesh's independence and the birthday of its founder Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
