Pakistan Day will be celebrated across the country today with national enthusiasm.

This day commemorates the resolution passed at the meeting of the All India Muslim League on March 23, 1940, in the light of which the Muslims of the subcontinent embarrassed the dream of a separate homeland. The resolution was tabled at Lahore Manto Par where Minar Pakistan was erected in his memory.

The day will be a public holiday across the country. Celebrations will be held across the country with Corona SOPS in mind. National flags will be hoisted on all public and private buildings, starting March 23 with a salute of 31 cannons in the federal capital and 21 in the provincial capitals.

Special prayers for the security and stability of the country and the nation should be sought in the Fajr prayer gatherings. Special documentary programs will also be aired on PTV and private TV channels in which the importance of Pakistan Day will be highlighted.

Simple and dignified guard change ceremonies will be held at the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi and Allama Iqbal, the poet of the East in Lahore.

Every year on the occasion of Pakistan Day, a grand parade of the Armed Forces is held at the Thanksgiving Ground Islamabad. This year too, the Armed Forces made full preparations for the parade, Pakistan Air Force planes also rehearsed in the airspace of the federal capital.

However, intermittent rains are continuing in Islamabad and Rawalpindi due to which the weather has cooled down and the temperature has dropped. The Meteorological Department has forecast more rains in the next 24 hours. According to ISPR, the parade on the occasion of Pakistan Day will be held on March 25 instead of March 23 due to weather conditions.
